The Jordan Derby Hat

The Jordan hat design
The foundation for the Jordan hat was fashioned out of a rich black dupioni silk. A red silk underbrim offers a delightful element of surprise when the wearer’s face is upturned.
A large red rose adorns the front of the hat, created out of alternating layers of red silk organza and red satin taffeta.
This floral centerpiece is framed by a bed of leaves fashioned out of black satin and silk organza. Three long slender silver silk organza “feathers” and black veiling are the accent.
A layered sash, created out of red satin, encircles the crown of the hat. A pewter pebble button adorns the back.
A winter white brocade lines this hat and honors Rosie Napravnik’s own retired Thoroughbred racehorse, Sugar. The lining for the Jordan hat is personally signed by Rosie herself!
The finished Jordan design measures approximately 20 inches end to end.
